ASPIRE

ASPIRE is a creative new project that uses TAE KWON DO, a Korean martial art, to promote the strengths of the people that
we support.

Funded through the National Lottery ‘Awards For All’ scheme, ASPIRE offers twenty people the opportunity to train in basic TAE KWON DO at the Norwich Academy of Martial Arts, under the supervision of an experienced instructor.
Classes will run for a whole year and incorporate fitness with improved confidence, self-esteem and body image.
Alongside the martial arts classes we
hope to be able to offer sessions in Brain Gym. This technique uses specific movements that help to stimulate areas
of the brain that relate to communication, organisation and comprehension. Brain Gym is used widely in schools and business to enhance potential.

Throughout the project we will be looking closely at the changes people experience as a result of their participation.

The project commences on the 28th April 2008 and runs through to April 2009.
